Today, I received an email from Google adsense informing me that a certian link in my site was offensive and violates adsense policy. So they have disabled serving ads on my site. My account is safe though.

The link they mentioned was removed by me a month or so back.

However, I can still see Google ads running on my site. Is Google giving me some time to rectify my mistake?
Since the link they mentioned is no more on my site, what exactly do I do?

I've videos from youtube in my site. Since youtube is owned by Google I guess displaying content from youtube on my site is safe. Or is it?

Do I need to reply to Google adsense?

Some advice will be deeply appreciated.

Is the problem a link on your site or a youtube video? I'm a bit confused.

Hi Farmboy,
The link was the major problem but like I said I had removed it a month back.

My site is basically a video site with Youtube videos.

IIRC...That's the problem.

Didn't adsense state that they would not allow pages that are mainly youtube videos and little else ? I am sure they did.

Big difference with a page that has lots of text and a youtube video with it, and a page that is mainly youtube videos.

Plus, there is the copyright to think about.
Did you make these videos ?

Hi Lame_Wolf,
I've to admit that my site's main attraction are the youtube videos. There are texts to accompany them though. I am not aware about adsense policy related with youtube videos.

I read this somewhere in this forum:
"Are youtube videos always copyrighted? Uploaders can choose whether or not they let others embed the videos on their sites, so I guess that counts as a permission"

However, my main concern is the notice from Google. Am I supposed to reply to such an email from them?

If you are using GData API with racy=exclude parameter, It's YouTube responsibility to deliver community safe content for Video Search API.

I don't think all over the problem reported by Adsense Team was pointing to your YouTube embedded video because As YouTube delete the copy-righted video, You will get message "This video has been removed due to copy right violation" in embedded player itself.

Look at it this way... if your site is mainly other people's youtube content, then basically, your site is mainly scraped content. The only difference from this to other scraped sites is that yours are videos.

I am not saying this is the reason, but could be.

I am often writing to either uploaders etc to remove videos. They take from my site, make videos, and nobody ever asks if it is okay.

Just because the uploader gives you the permission (because they allow embedding) doesn't mean that the uploader is the copyright holder.

However, my main concern is the notice from Google. Am I supposed to reply to such an email from them?

First, check the headers to make sure it is from Google.
Once confirmed, write to them and ask for more information.

Incidentally I got the same mail today for not compliant with the policy. I will post a new thread on my issues but it seems to be some type of pre checking is going on. Any one else ?

If it was my site i'd remove adsense from it entirely and sell it. Your account is more valuable than a youtube clone slash movie preview site.
