From the Adsense FAQ which is always a good place to check first:

6. Can I sign up for more than one account?

This is strongly discouraged. Because website publishers can place the AdSense HTML ad code on any page they own or manage, there is no need for publishers to create multiple accounts. Therefore, we generally limit Google AdSense accounts to one per publisher. However, publishers may create multiple accounts if they manage sites that require separate payments.

I would expect to see site-by-site tracking to come along in a few weeks.

I'd like to see stats on what ads get clicked as well... I guess I can dream :).

There have been a few users here who have successfully set up more than one AdSense account with Google's permission. Another member was recently told that there would be better site-by-site breakdowns being offered "soon".

My problem is that the partners of two sites I work with are seperate, and they are completely seperate businesses. If I can't realistically split the income AND ACCOUNT FOR IT, AdSenses is completely useless. One site won'T give away free space to benefit the others income of course.

This puts me in a tricky spot, and I don't really think that part of the TOS makes much sense, as most websites are their own and independent businesses, even if they are sometimes opereted by the same people.

One question I have about that... If I test adsene on a new site, and THEN apply for an extra account for it, should I remove the ads first, or can I leave them in to show the adSense people what it would look like with their ads in and how well they are targeted.

I agree, I would remove the ads too. With the ads being there, they could argue that you don't need two accounts if you are already been showing them.

Of course, Google probably has a record of what domains your ads have appeared on for your account. But why make it harder for the person who checks the index page for suitability ;) They probably wouldn't check for your original account unless you brought it up.

Well, we will see. The problem is, right now, putting up ads would have the only result as to show me what it's like. It will not give me ANy other usefull value, due tothe jumbled up accounting between different projects with different people involved.

I'm a specialist in my field. I do my part in many projects, with the other parts done by different teams. I'll always be responsible to set up adsense, but I MUSt have separate accounting.
