Yikes! Google AdSense Blue Dart Package Shows Payment Amount

The package is stapled, so anyone can open & re-staple it

I know checks are somewhat safe against pilferage (not fully specially when huge amounts are involved) but I think the idea of making the payment amount and full details clearly visible from outside is a very very bad idea.

Google ASA, please pass on this feedback to your check dispatch team.

The solution is just to send it folded as before.

Why do you need to send such a big sized package?
What value do you get from showing the amount?
Please stop this practice henceforth.

Why mess with a good thing? Why not send it in the small envelope as before?
You can save the tree and save the inconvenience of displaying our AdSense amount to all & sundry.

What kind of package is it? Obviously not a window envelope!

It is a big window envelope, probably 12" x 9" with a BIG window displaying your *AdSense account number*, *check amount*, date and all other details you could think of.

Surely if the above is the case then Google are in breach of their own TOS as regards the confidentiality of adsense accounts ..and setting up the conditions for anyone who has access to the envelope to indulge in some zealous clicking and thus ban the account holder ..so if you dont "tip" the delivery guy ..he may get even ..or tell all your neighbours ..who may be jealous ..and know enough about adsense to get you "booted" just by going to your sites and spending a day or so clicking everywhere ..Their IP's are going to look close enough to yours that Google are ..going to wonder if your family havent been told to help you out ..

I just received my payment check in an envelope via Bluedart courier in quite a torn apart state but there appears to be a fitting explanation.

Google payment document is printed with my delivery address on the left hand side meant for an envelope with transparent window also on left hand side to expose only the address in the closed envelope.

Unfortunately, the envelope used for this document has transparent window on the right-hand-side resulting in exposing quite a few payment details from the document including even the payment amount, pretty clearly.

Delivery guy seems to have torn left side of the envelope near transparent window in his effort to expose my address which was otherwise hidden.

One of the possible reason of using a right hand side transparent window envelope could be that the Bluedart tracking number sticker with the barcode is affixed right on document on right hand side of the address which actually should be on the envelope.

I am sure Google Hyderabad guys would be careful next time around.

I have to agree with this, we received the cheque today and all the details of cheque were easily visible to anyone when viewed outside the packing.

DHL packing was comparatively very good.

Even the check was folded and not in good condition.

yep.. was shocked!

Also I always take it via regular post (not DHL), and this time it has come via blue dart!

ASA, Is there a way I can get it via regular post again?

I guess Google doesn't have to agree to its own TOS :)

That's a good and scary worst case scenario.

I am more worried about the delivery guy tipping some thieves or thugs who comes looking for some quick cash.

ASA, please address this issue. At least let us know you are looking into it so it is addressed from the next payment onwards.

@Maxima

Don't ask for regular post. Blue Dart is better. However Google's packaging needs to improve.

I agree. Packaging issue need to be addressed by Google but, I believe, Bluedart service is unquestionably professional and prompt. They are also sales partners with DHL.

Sorry, am I reading this correctly?

If you receive payments via check - you can see the check amount from the outside of the packaging?

Not only you can see the check amount, your AdSense account no, when the check was issued and more.

I was really shocked when my driver handed me the cheque. Apparently the blue dart guy just gave him the courier. The amount is clearly visible from the window envelope - really shocking how Google can be so loose with their delivery system.

BTW the blue dart fellow apparently could not find the address - I tracked the courier with the tracking number and had to call to ask for a delivery.

This is really very bad service! I would not mind paying google a $50 to get the cheque delivered properly.

You must be kidding, right?
Don't you think their cut is enough to cover the cost?

I am sad that Google haven't even officially acknowledge the issue, let alone promise to rectify it.

Goog should lose their miss CA crown for showing too much.
