Watching AdSense stats more than 10 times daily

Is it a disease?

I am beginning to suspect my stats inspection routine is eating my valuable time and becoming somewhat of an obsession :(

Also I noticed stats move slower when you watch it. Can anyone confirm?

I wonder if there is AdSense Stats Watcher Anonymous group for therapy...

Thoughts?

You have G.A.S.S., join the club. I could run for president, I spend more time checking AdSense stats in a day than I do of actual "work".

I have a spreadsheet with the following columns

date/time
impressions
clicks
earnings
impression change since last line
clicks change since last time
earnings change since last time
time since last time
impressions per hour
clicks per hour
earnings per hour
eCPM since last time
CTR since last time
EPC since last time

I started this spreadsheet 2005
I am now in line 15499

Dividing this number by the days since start, my average is in the range 10 times a day.

There used to be a Firefox extension that automatically updated without logging-in, I have no idea if it is still available and working correctly.

I think we should ask G for an Adsense stats feed which I can then route to my mobile, so every update is greeted with Kaching tune on my mobile.

Good grief!

I sometimes don't even look at them for a week.

No matter how often you look you aren't going to improve them.

Google AdSense Stats Syndrome (G.A.S.S.) is a condition we in AdSense are still studying, so I would love to get more details for my research.

Do you feel you get useful information every time you check?

I'll admit I suffer from G.A.S.S. to a degree. I have my stats page set as my browser's home page. :o ;)

Useful info every time? No. Some of the time? Yes.

ASA> Do you feel you get useful information every time you check?

I check it to see if my retirement plans is coming crashing down or not ;)

I am happy to see the trends as before, unhappy to see they go down unexpectedly like today; nothing original really.

I would categorize it as a type of obsessive compulsive disorder.

ASA, while you are still listening, can we please please please have a feed? I would even volunteer to code it for you.

A feed? too likely to invite trouble.

A password protected feed would be no trouble at all.

A feed for Gmail exists @ [username:password@gmail.google.com...] can mask it anyway if security is the concern)
May be some senior webmaster should tryout a workaround for Adsense too.
