Google ads and Sevice pack 2

Is there a fix coming?

I have noticed that the added protection in the new Windows update blocks Google ads. Is Google working to get round this problem?

I have XP SP2 but haven't noticed anything like that.

If you have a version of Norton installed that includes ad blocking, but you had disabled it, SP2 may well have re-enabled it for you. This happened to a friend of mine.

Norton is hateful, I lose much money due its stupid "anti-ads by default"! :-(

SP2 does block pop ups but not adsense. SP2 does not block popups on MS sites though.

My impression is that 99 percent of most computer/web users are too ignorant to even know that a service pack exists, let alone download and install it.

I dont think so. I use urchin to monitor my traffic and I notice that there is a difference of 10 - 12 % in traffic reported by adsense and urchin. There must be a lot of surfers using Norton Internet security and similar software which blocks adsense.

you could be right, but i deal with doctors, judges, federal employees ,and attorneys all day long and these fairly educated people are ABSOLUTELY clueless with regard to these issues.

the MS pop up blocker in SP2 is getting freakin' annoying. I turn off the pop up blocker and it STILL blocks certain pages.

And how many illiterate computer people are gonna be smart enough to even know where to turn that feature off?
