Adsense Check - MICR codes strips missing on check

Hi All,

Today I received my adsense check for Feb. earning. I am surprised to see that MICR code / check numbers which are printed on every check at bottom (at white strips) are missing on check. I am sure these checks without MICR code strips can not be send in local clearing by my bank here in India.

Does anyone else received the same type of cheques from ADsense this month. Is there any problem at your local bank in depositing these checks.

Any solution to this... bcoz I m sure this check can't be send in local clearing. Should we ask google to resend the check?

This time Google has messed up the Adsense payments process which is causing difficulty to many of us. :(

It has send check to Indian publishers from its Google Hyderabad Office via Bluedart courier service.

My check had some errors like:

No MICR code printed on Adsense Cheque
No "A/c Payee Only" line mentioned on top left corner of check.

The bank is not accepting the check without the MICR code. Also there is no one to answer our mails and threads at google forums.

I think we have to reissue our payments again. Lets see what happens to our earnings :(

Have they used a new bank?

I got my cheque from G Ireland payable on CITIBANK as always. No problems, it got cleared immediately.

I too got a normal check via DHL its from Ireland and Citibank, what is this with Bluedart thing?

Bluedart is a courier service in India. Google has send our checks this time through this service from its Hyderabad office in India. Checks are faulty. :X

I know bluedart is a courier service I am from Hyd India, I wanted to know that do you normally receive your check via DHL or normal post (many be people you get via normal post got affected)

Coz I had opted for secure delivery and I always get it via DHL I think they deduct $25 for sending via DHL secure delivery.

I dont think it should make a difference as to how your check is being delivered. I used to receive the checks thru normal post and drawn on citi bank.

The same is the case this time also. But no numbers is printed on MICR code line (white strip below every check). It is blank. And our bank say it can't accept this check without MICR code being printed on it.

Ranjitbhar, did the MICR codes was printed on your check which you received this month?

Yep it is a normal A/c payee check Citibank Europe with Check no and MICR code, that was despatch from Google Ireland, this show that they might have started dispatching local checks (normal postage ones) from Google Hyd office.

Intestinally the google hyd office was just 100 meters from the place I earlier lived.

I just wanted to add that the Google Hyderabad India Office is still just around 15 kms form the new place that I live, so it implies that not all checks are being sent from Google Hyd office for Indian publishers.

Ranjitbhar, have you deposited the check (without MICR code) with your bank? Further, if yes, have u got the credit for the same in your account?

To avoid confusion the check that I got has MICR code printed on it.

Its a normal check as the same that I get every month with MICR code A/c Payee stuff as usual.

I have not yet deposited it coz I have been very busy these last couple of week with some other stuff, but I am sure it will get credited as it same as the previous checks that I get.
