My traffic is good, but it looks like G has simply decided to pay me less.
I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I opened another Adsense account (with their permission, one for business and one for personal)? After I notified them about this earnings have seemed to tank.
Why would they be "punishing" me? Have I lost credibility in their eyes?
What might be the reason for it?
Just this morning, the Center for Media Research reported on a new survey of ANA (Association of National Advertisers) members. More than three-quarters (77 percent) of the respondents said they were planning to cut their ad budgets, and 37 percent said they were planning to cut their ad budgets by more than 20 percent. Draw your own conclusions.
there is this word "economy" has not stuck this month only, its been in news for past six months it had effect my earning like others but not as much as this month.
That was the point i wanted to raise.
Now I'm only getting 70k pageviews a day since early this year, I thought the earnings I was getting last month ($20 per day) were low, but now, with no change since last month in page views or clicks per day, my earnings have dropped to below $5. I'm getting like 8/9 cents CPM!
What could have caused this and how can I fix this?
I'm not sure what it is, but I'll take a stab at it and say it's due to the slow economy this year.
There isn't much you can due to fix it. You just have to wait and see if this passes by in the next few months.

Specifically yolkman's comment:
In the past, I paid $0.50 for keywords in content network to get a significant impressions. As of 2009, I pay $0.04 in content network and receive triple impressions.
That's 8% of the previous cost.
Most likely, advertisers are bidding a lot lower.
If it is only that, then it's fine. Its a universal catastrophe and everyone needs to bear.
What I am concerned is whether Google is going to start taking higher cuts on the clicks in order to appease their shareholders. Possibly we are receiving lesser percent of the commissions now than before.
It's time Google was made to reveal their revenue sharing ratios..
or just me?
Admittedly, it does seem like the harder I work, the less I make and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't discouraging at times. But, looking at the big picture realistically, it is what it is until the recession turns around. Therefore, I try hard to focus on riding it out and being positioned well when it does start to get better.
Our Adsense earnings have reduced by more than 60% even though our page rank has gone up to 6. Anybody know what's up with Adsense? Our earnings have gone down drastically since December08/Jan09
Any tips? Thanks!
Then, take the time to browse your site to see what kind of ads it shows. Many of us have been there (in and out) because suddenly there are less ads to show (so, the same ad again and again), less ad inventory... less matched, less content related. Just a stage perhaps.
Perhaps too easy or obvious, but check your uptime. Sometimes everything is ok except your site being online enough time a month.
To help fix the ever declining CPM, I'm looking at the different ad units/sizes and experimenting with new placements and sizes.
In general, more traffic leads to more clicks. And higher PR *CAN* lead to more traffic. (But if everyone else in your niche got a higher PR, the net effect for you will probably be negligible.)
Click prices are mostly determined by the advertisers. Fewer advertisers and lower budgets (both of which are frequent results of economic downturns) most likely mean lower click prices.
To OP, I want to say, that not only PR has zero influence on AS earnings directly, but even marketing AdSense site without staring into little green bar is possible and way more satisfactory.
