Slow AdSense Weekend? Wait Until Sunday

Friday was kind of slow and this Saturday's my lowest all month. In the United States Superbowl Sunday is generally quiet as families stay indoors watching the game. The halftime show is going to feature Bruce Springsteen.

So if Sunday seems slow, this may be the reason why.

The next day (Feb. 2nd) might be slow as well. It's Groundhog Day. Don't think many celebrate it, but it might be slow being the day after Super Bowl Sunday, when everyone gets wasted.

If today was slow, then I'd like things to be a lot slower. A two-month old website finally started ranking for some terms, with an order of magnitude increase in traffic overnight. A couple other sites were up as well, with only one down significantly.

All told, this was the best day in 6 months. Then again, my sites tend to appeal to the people that don't watch football, even on superbowl sunday.

For some reason, I'm never affected much by the Super Bowl. Either my audience doesn't care about NFL football (only about 40% of my visitors are American) or the spouses/significant others/partners of the football fans are desperate to do something besides watch a game on TV!

Friday was good for me however Saturday was my worst day of the month, less than New Year's Day, owing to a much lower than average EPC, -14.5%.

The Superbowl has absolutely nothing to do with most AdSense accounts. It has to do with reduced earnings for Publishers.

I'm with signor_john--my demographic is NOT interested in the Super Bowl or in American football generally. In fact, I see significantly better numbers on winter Sundays than on summer Sundays.

If you are using enom's name servers, they were having issues Saturday, so this could explain why traffic was so low on Saturday.

Every time you people over there in the USA have a special event or a public holiday (which is often) my earnings plummet :-0

I'm going to have to write a letter to Obama and ask him to start by pulling all public holidays out from under you. ;-)
More productive days will help kick start the economy again.

On my flagship site about widgets the majority is made up of American males. The earnings so far for today are average, maybe even up (too early to tell). I honestly expected them to drop because of the SuperBowl.
