Of course, done in the worst possible way :(

Just got an email christmas card from Google Adsense - specifically marked as the Sydney crew.
Unfortunately, it looks like spam. What are they thinking?

Dear {this bit was blank},
You have just received a message from Google AdSense Team at Visual Jazz.
To view your message, please visit the following address:
{redacted, but the domain included a subdomain 'marketing' and a domain appropriate to the company name above, followed by a long alphanumeric pagename}
To unsubscribe, reply to this email and change the subject to be: unsubscribe

and then some 'trouble viewing' instructions.

(I'm assuming including this is ok by WebmasterWorld TOS, as its a broadcast email, not an individual one)

I clicked it very tentatively, ready to close it fast. I'm on OSX, so I am fairly safe. I would not have opened it if I was using Windows.

And, yes, I agree it could just be spam, but it came to the correct email address for adsense usage, and its not a default email so - my conclusion is: probably legit.
But what on earth is a "Google AdSense Team at Visual Jazz"?
Has there been a buyout we didn't hear about? hehe ;)

Yes, I receive it too but I haven't downloaded the email from the server because I thought it looked sus. Maybe I'll just delete instead of download.

Use Mailwasher like I do. I have the "paid for" version. It simply downloads the first 20 lines and it always tells you what the "real" links are.

I delete 95+% of mail directly from the server with it, including the usual "me too's".

Wouldn't leave home without it. A god send!

Just a very satisfied user.

I use Popcorn,it's free, and like IanCP delete all unnecessary mail directly from the server. The huge advantage of it is that you can have it loaded on a flash drive and access from any WIN PC USB anywhere.

I use PopMonitor, it will read as many lines as you set in the prefs as well as the headers. it even allows you to auto block/delete or bounce emails back to sender.
