Noticed my CTR was in the toilet today so I looked at the site and I'm seeing off topid AdSense Link units, vertical skyscrapers that don't even say Google Ads where a leaderboard used to be, it's totally off the charts.

Is anyone else seeing this broken behavior?

Sounds like another October glitch. I was affected by this last October!

Enough data in now to see the impact of whatever is happening to my sites.

This is October 1-10 v 11-24

Page Impressions +0.8%
Clicks -8.84%
CTR -9.78%
eCPM -18.67%
Earnings -17.95%

October 1-10 average daily earnings was the same as the previous quarter and only -2.4% off my 2008 average therefore it is very evident something dramatic has occurred this past couple of weeks on my sites and the last couple of days have seen even lower daily earnings.

How do your stats compare?.

October 1-10 vs. 11-24:

Average daily earnings are up about 3.7 percent for the second period, thanks to a higher clickthrough rate.

In other words, no big change (good or bad).

Something else to think about:

The dollar has climbed quite a bit recently: The euro was below $1.27 yesterday, compared to $1.60 a few months ago. That may help some publishers and hurt others, depending on their audiences and advertisers.

Only a couple of months ago it was USD 2.00+ to GBP 1.00 and at one point yesterday it was 1.55 however closed at 1.59, nevertheless that is still a 20% depreciation which, coincidentally, is the same amount my earnings have gone down...hmmm!

It's certainly going to make my September earnings higher than I was expecting only a few weeks ago:-)
