Adsense link text in blue

Web designers advise to keep links underlined and in blue.

Has anyone tried using a different color besides blue in the adsense link text? If so, has it had any positive effects?

Yes to using different colors.

Unknown if it has had any any effect other than being visually pleasing. Some sites would look terrible with blue links.

Blue links are understood by 99.9% web users. Anyone who wants to put links in another color either doesn't care about usability and just wants to show their mom and dad that they read the entire html 101 book.

Or they don’t want their site to look like crap.

Who cares how blue looks?

You enjoy your green links or whatever you think is stylish and I will remain someone who qualifies for the Fedex club in the first 4 days of the month.

You go!

Blue links are approximately four times as effective as other colours in my experience. I started with a colour that matched the rest of the site but after experimenting with blue for a couple of weeks I never looked back.

Ah assumptions… sometimes you can have things how you like it.

Consider using a different shade of dark blue. You have a lot of choices that will retain the meaning of blue=link without clashing with your overall color scheme.

Blue links attract a much higher CTR. They made a difference of about 400% for me even though blue doesn't go too well with my design.
