I've had an interesting month for one account so far. Nothing about the website has changed but it's Adsense earnings have fallen off around 30%. It has added content and there isn't anything fancy about it but here we are earning a significantly smaller number. Anyone ever experience anything similar?

Traffic the same. Earnings are lower as time goes on.

I think I may have to try somebody else for a month and see what happens. Never thought I'd say that.

I doubled my income. What you need to do is bump your SERPs higher for valuable keywords. What that does is lets you snatch the ads of advertisers who pay more per click away from your competitors before the high rollers' daily budget runs out.

Part 2 is crank up the quality of your site so when these high rollers see tons of their cash going to your site, and check it out to see if it's any good, they don't ban you.

Well I guess it comes around and goes around because the last three days have been around triple what the rest of the month were. If it stays this way for the next few days it'll balance out.

Potentialgeek the website in question is around 7 years old and since it's been with Google it's been very consistent which is why I started this thread. Variance in a high quality site is unnerving.

Woe!... woe is me!

I'm after some soothing words of reassurance from you seasoned Adsensers.

My Adsense revenues have hit the skids since last Monday (23rd June), I estimate earnings down about 50% day on day, CTR Down, eCPM Down, though Traffic is the same as usual and the money per click seems ok.

I was hoping it was just a bum week and things would improve, but Mondays are usually my best days, and so far today sucks, still down 50% from my average.

Is this just a Summer thing? as I only started adsense since last October and my earnings have remained pretty constant since about March.

Nothingís has changed about my siteís, Iíve got 6 on different topics.

Anyone else experiencing this sort of thing?

You might need to consider adjusting ad positions as repeat users catch on over time.

Yeah, we have had revenues "fall off" a few times before -- hang in there if you can, because it can change quickly.

After a dismal start, June is turning out to be our best month ever by a long shot, and we expect that to continue for a while (although, with AdSense, it can all go away overnight seemingly for no reason...)

We did adjust our ad formats, going with the ones that seem to attract the highest bids, more advertisers, and have a better CTR. All of the above have pushed earnings up, without too much disruption to the visitors (the new ad format isn't much different from the previous one.)

(Our next step, now that traffic patterns are good, is to start selling ads directly. AdSense can be good, but too darn unsteady as many here know.)

My average June CTR and eCPM were down noticeably compared to the same month in 2007, possibly because I've moved my AdSense ad unit (which consists of text ads only) from a hot zone on the AdSense "heat map" to a dead zone beneath a skyscraper display ad.

However, earnings per click were way up: nearly 34 per cent higher in June, 2008 than in the same month last year.
