The YouTube video's with Adsense

How to get them to show relevant content?

Hello,

I'm experimenting with adding the YouTube video's to my site, and have added keywords related to video's I would like the player to show, but it isn't showing anything near relevant to my keywords.

For example, say I run a site on The Beatles, I would want it to show Beatles related YouTube video's, but it's showing like David Blain Street Magic... and I didn't put that as one of the keywords, lol.

Am I missing something here?

I'd also love to know how the video ads are targeted, because the very first and only time I tried a video ad, it was a no-go. I expected a lag in getting the ad targetted, but not as bad as what happened.

One of my sites is very family friendly and frequented by children. I put the code up and the very first video ad was for a lifestyle that would have completely offended my visitors, although I have absolutely nothing on the page as far as keywords etc that would trigger an ad like that. I checked and researched carefully to be sure my wording included no slang words, or words with alternative meanings, but came up with nothing. I'm glad it was an experiment and I was able to yank it down immediately!

I'll be sketchy about trying again until they have a better targeting system for video. I wouldn't mind "somewhat" related ads until they worked it out, but the single ad I got was so far off the mark I couldn't leave it there to see what would happen.

I discovered that Adsense does not use the full inventory of Youtubes for the Video ads. Only the videos in a subdirectory named /expertvillage are available for publishers.

Search around in /expertvillage when you want to create a VideoAd unit to see if there are any Vids available for your subject.
