Hello,

i was thinking about letting two/three friends use their adsense ads on my website. Can i let them use one adsense ad from their account, on my website, on the content they added in? do you think having more than one adsense account on one website is bad?

To the best of my knowledge, on a given page you can only have one adsense account. So if you have several subdomains you can have separate adsense accounts.

You just can't show two different adsense accounts on the same page view.

One example that does work ok, is to setup your ads for each account then randomnly show each ads account based on the percentage you have agreed to. You just cant show two account's ads on the same page view. Same page is ok as long as it is not the same view. I do this and have never had an issue, and in the long run a randomizer script will give you earnings that are about right based on the percentage you specify.

yes you can have 2 ads from different accounts on one page, it's called revenue sharing ;)

From: Google AdSenseTM Online Standard Terms and Conditions, Section 2, Implementation and Operation of Ads, Search Results, and Referrals, AdSense for Content paragraph:

You agree that while You may display more than one (1) Ad Unit on each Site Web page, You shall not display any Ad Unit on a page that contains Ads associated with another Google AdSense customer (e.g., Your Web hosting company), unless authorized to do so by Google.

I can see 3 options:

I
index.htm - Johns ads
services.htm - Peters ads

II
index.htm - Johns ads OR Peters ads (rotated by script, hand, etc)
products.htm - Johns ads OR Peters ads (rotated by script, hand, etc)

III
index.htm - Johns ads AND Peters ads
products.htm - Johns ads AND Peters ads

and a mixture of above, but main question is which ones are legal? Option I and II i guess, from reading TOS.

Yea there wouldn't be more than one AdSense user per page, if it would, a script would run to pick only one of them. So as you've said it's ok to do so, thanks for the answers!

This all being said, how valuable is your own Adsense account to you? Because if past discussions here are any indication, if one of the Adsense accounts sharing your site is banned from Adsense, there's a really good chance you'll be banned too. Guilt by association. Do you really want to take that chance?

Hmm, good point. I'll think about it, and ask google if their account could do any harm to mine.

The short answer is: No.

The long answer is: Heck No!

It's like having unprotected sex.

The funny thing is, that lots of people tell you that it is a terrible and dangerous idea, that it's too risky. But with all the doom and gloom dire predictions over the years, I've never seen or heard of an actual example of the "guilt by association" actually happening due to a revenue sharing site.

I agree BigDave. One scenario is the DP forum which has many users participating in adsense sharing there. I'm guessing at least one DP member using that site with adsense sharing has been banned in the past for a separate site. But all other accounts are not impacted. Just an example, that I think supports your point.

Vis3R, I find it amusing that some of the members encouraging you to "go ahead and do it" are the same ones trolling me in another thread. They will probably wait until you are banned, then come back and make snide remarks or laugh at you.

I do not recommend any "sharing" scheme (and do not feed the trolls).

Can't your friends get their own websites? Its pretty cheap nowadays to get a domain and hosting.
