Hi everyone,
am thinking about signing up to this. Is it cost effective? Does it make your website listed higher in Google (as you are an advertiser with Google). Are there and problems or things I should know about before I sign up?
Once again, I am in debt to all those that help
thanking you
Linda xx

Hi Linda some answers for you

Does it make your website listed higher in Google (as you are an advertiser with Google).

As far as anyone can tell Adsense has no effect on your Search engine positioning.

Are there and problems or things I should know about before I sign up?

I would read the Adsense online help [google.com ] carefully before youn sign up.

A quick summary of some common problems with typical reasons in brackets...

  • Account holders getting account cancelled in first couple of months (Google fraud bot detects fraudulent clicks)

  • Ad blocks only showing PSA's (Content trips adsense filter)

  • Ads shown are poorly targetted (If you know the reason for this let me know!)

    Hope this helps

    Google Adwords work for me!

    Linda,

I have found that Google Adwords has worked for me. We have been advertising since February and that has cost us just over £5,000, but it has brought in over £35,000 of turnover. Although the cost of the Adwords campaign will wipe out most of the profit from this turnover in the first year, our clients generally stay with us for a number of years and so the profitability is further down the line.
