AdSense ads disappeared from a site

Any advice?

I help a friend with her website, which has been monetized by AdSense for quite a while.

Two days ago, the AdSense ads disappeared from her site.

No changes to the underlying code base for the pages. (I had added a link to her left nav three days ago to let site visitors subscribe to her YouTube channel, but after I did that her AdSense ads were still showing, so I don't think that was the problem.)

But in every spot on the site where we used to have AdSense ads, there is now just a blank space.

When I view source, I still see the AdSense code in the source.

The only thing she has done recently is to apply for the YouTube partners program.

No email correspondence from Google Adsense has arrived. We can still login to her AdSense account.

Any ideas? Is the info above consistent with a bannning? Anybody else ever had a similar experience.

This has been reported several times in the past. You need to contact [e-mail]. It usually takes a few days after they've been notified for the ads to show up again and no explanation has ever been given to my knowledge.

Usually that has to do with NOT having Sponsored Links: above the ads, etc...probably too blended in. They'll let you get away with it, until one day they catch it and stop serving ads until you fix it...
