Hi,

Was wondering if page impressions have a dramatic effect on the price per click you receive from Google?

When I post a blog post sometimes I check it out many times and accumulate many page impressions. If I start doing this multiple times a day over many blogs would the price per click that Google paid me go down a lot?

Thanks,

Mark

I think - yes.
CPM is the main value for Google as it wants to maximize profit from impressions on your site. High CTR and CPM means more $ per click you get ;)

I think there is a limit. In other words what do you consider high clickthru? 1% 5% 10% 30%? I seem to have found an optimum point after which a higher CTR tends to lower the CPM (as if they think you are scamming the system). This is easily solved (if the CTR is too high) by adding additional ad units which are lower on the page and not so obvious.
However, the other, connected question then is, do they gauge based on average CTR per ad unit on the page or per entire page (in other words CTR = clicks/ad unit or CTR = clicks/page impression). In the former case the above suggestions would help in the later it would not.
