Leaving old codes intact

I have a site with hundreds of pages and I do not want to change all the old codes into the new managed ones. So far, they continue to work as usual. Will the old codes be deactivated one day? Any comments?

They will give ample notice if it happens, just turning off the old codes would be costly beyond imagining.

I think it will remain active for year or so.. I read it somewhere on their help pages.

iwannano1: do you know where you found that they will deactivate the old code in one year... all i see is this:

Do I have to use the new ad management feature, or can I stick with my old ad units?

While we expect the improved ad management options to be an upgrade for most publishers, you're also welcome not to use the new feature and simply continue generating ad code as you have in the past. Ads created using the old version of code will continue to work just fine.

I put on the new managed ads today but it failed to show anything... in fact, all I see within the ad box was a not found message while the ads put up using the old codes worked fine... anyone else have this problem? How can anyone use the new codes when it doesn't work?

It doesn't work right away. Mine took about 5 minutes. I think it helps to create the ad unit and then wait a while before actually trying to use it.

I changed one site to Managed Ads last week but rolled them back after a day. Turns out I was just have a bad click-through day but I still don't like that whole broken click report thing.
