I'm doing quite well with Referrals 2.0 (wish I had jumped in sooner) but there's one thing that gets my goat every time. It's those big holes that appear when my preferred ads are not available.
When I notice ads that are performing well on my site, I'd like to be able to add them to my existing ads, but when I try to locate existing advertisers, they are not to be found. It's like playing cat and mouse... I have to catch them when they ARE available. However, there doesn't seem to be a time when ALL my preferred ads are showing on the setup panel.
In other words, I'm wishing for a "Referrals Preferred List" where I can add my preffered ads and they are stored (just like the filter list). Adsense will then refer to my preferred list and display those ads whenever they ARE available. If those advertisers have dropped out, then maybe they can be flagged with a short note like "no longer available" so I can remove it. Of course I don't mind other ads appearing as long as my preferred ads get top billing FIRST.
Right now, it's really tedious to have to go through the set-up procedure everytime I want to include new ads.
Am I making sense? Hope you see this ASA...
Firefox and googlepack referrals do really, really, really well on my site. Why does Google insist on showing completely unrelated referrals for which I get ZERO conversions? Even after I have (repeatedly) indicated that no other referrals should be shown. And the others have zero, count 'em, zero conversions over several months and hundreds of thousands of pageviews.
2- When you show a referral product performance, please make a link to their product description page. Right now we have to copy the product name and search it in the main referral page, and sometimes you can't even find it with its own name.
3- have someone clean up the products that do not belong in the categories that are showing them up on a somewhat regular basis.
4- please save the last "country - language" selection. It's annoying to always reselect "united states - english" even though I am not american, many, if not most, of my sites cater to americans and the english speaking world.
I noticed many improvements since it started, especially in terms of navigation, so good going for that.
