Question about referrals. A bug, a con, what?

I added a single referral to my cart. It was for a particular product that I knew my members would take advantage of.

The conversion was for $2. I logged on this am and checked my stats. 90% of the referrals were for %0.01 and only 10% were for the $2.00

They're listed as 2 different products but I only signed up for one. How is another ad being shown when I only selected one. I don't wish for this $0.01 company to be advertising on my website.

Is the original company somehow slipping a different ad in?

Need to figure this out, as I am converting well for not being paid for it.

Forgot one... "a joke".

If it's 2 different "products" from the same vendor, then you probably get paid whenever either one converts. That's the way other affiliate programs work.

If so, then as long as the correct ad is showing (which you can presumably verify by looking at your site) then the program is working. Whether it's worth participating in is another matter.

So I looked in to this some more.

It seems the ad I signed up for is seperate to this advertiser who is creeping in. I don't want this punk advertising on my site for $0.01 per transaction but I can;t figure out who it is.

The referral I signed up with, is paying the correct amount.

Still confused.

#*$!ING HELL! This morning I already have 14 conversions by this company. In total it's paid me $0.14. It's taking the piss now. Why are google allowing them to take advantage of publishers in this way. I am well and truly peed off.

Why don't text ads just show the highest paying ads like the other referrals. arghhh
