From past postings, earnings per click vary greatly unless you have a large stable site optimized around a few keywords.

On my site, which is a niche site, though admittedly not keyword optimized (I started with it in 1997 and it has a lot of repurposed content magazine articles, presentations etc.), earnings for a single click has varied by almost a factor of 50. Average EPC is more stable, but still variable.

Overall, I'm happy with my EPC, which is over 10 cents but under a dollar...

do you mean "keyword optimized" as in for search engine rankings of to influence the types of ads adsense is serving on your site? if the later is the case, how is it done? i've read quite a few threads here on the topic, but haven't been able to get results through their advice.

diamondgirl--we can talk about EPC if we aren't too specific. Rather than just tell nsqlg we can't talk about EPC, I was trying to suggest that talking about it is not likely to be very useful.

Re keyword optimizing: Don't ask me. I don't do it. But I see constant discussion on the WebmasterWorld boards about how to do it. And from what I see, some people build new sites from the ground up in a way which they believe will get them ranked well in search engine results....

I don't concern myself with EPC. What matters to me is effective CPM and total earnings. At least for discussion simplicity, since advertiser reputation and other factors do get considered. The way I see it, EPC is what it is. Sure, the publisher gets an indetertiminate fractional cut, but it's really a function of supply and demand. Just my 2 cents.
