So hows September treating you? Not so good for me, everything is down from August.

Averaging 9500 ad impressions, 7 clicks and $1.65 (all per day). If things keep up this way I will get $97 (August + September earnings) after this month which means I'll have to wait for October to pass before the check is sent.

Anyone notice a drop in income this month?

Seriously, on those figures [literally]...

My wife would find me swinging from the nearest gum tree.

September for me was BAD compared to day one of AdSense way back when [almost].

OK, way back then, when I first joined and, AdSense was only about five days old and there was a great deal of public fanfare about the advent of AdSense [for us great unwashed minions of the affiliate community] and when I joined, I actually had no great expectations. [TRUE] Remember it very well.

That idea was lost in the first 30 minutes when I garnered the equivalent of 3 months previous affiliate income.

Since then, I expect the number of AdSense accounts has probably multiplied X 1,000 - even X 10,000 or perhaps X 100,000

Today my revenue stands at 25% of back then but very seriously above what most folks earn.

Yeah it's really low, but it's a forum.

I'm an Australian. Our principal trees [many, many species] are Gum Trees.

Technically Eucalypts, of which locally we probably have 100's of species and abound everywhere locally. Some 100+ years old.

No problem at my QTH [Amateur Radio Term meaning "my house"] to find a suitable tree. Many everywhere in my backyard, next door on say six sides.

Most Gum Trees in flower at the moment along with the Grevillea's

Perfect time of the year, shame though the vegetables are going nowhere. There's no climate change? As if?

..more the swingings of my eCPM for one of my channels

..one day it is very low $1.42 and the next day $144

I have since 3 months also extreme variation in my ECPM, the sample size is high enough to be significant.

Nevertheless if you have very low PIs high ECPM variation is quite common on some of my low performing channels.

My income is the highest so far since joining Adsense a few years ago. I hope it will continue to go up. This is my happiest month ever.

My page views are actually down a bit from last September, but ad impressions are up a little, as is income.

[The ad impressions going up is a surprise, it means G is more likely to fill more adblocks than a year ago. So instead of running just 2 or 3 ads in a 300x250 block they may be running 3 or 4 ads. That's opposite of what my general impression had been.]

My month-to-date eCPM for September is down 7 or 8 percent from August, but the trend has been upward in the last week or so. All in all, things look pretty normal for this time of year.

Well, September was no June or July, but it was twice what last September brought in, and this year I have the end of October to look forward to.

(How come all my best money makers are seasonal? One of these days I should think about that...)

My EPC is through the roof though. How come I can't get these dollar, two dollar, three dollar clicks when my traffic is bringing in 2000 clicks per day? When my traffic goes up, my EPC goes down. My traffic drops, and my EPC shoots up like a hot air balloon.

September has been slightly better for me than usual. I am actually extremely surprised at this, but I changed a single letter in a keyword of mine, and my eCPM doubled! I had "widget" and I changed my keyword to instead say "widgets". That effectively doubled my eCPM.

$160 so far with 2900 clicks.

Seeing a spike on top traffic pages after overhauling the site for a better user experience. Google likes that; maybe Google Adsense does, too.

EPC has doubled in about four months despite high click-through rate. I can only assume advertisers are getting a lot of bang for their buck.

I didn't sign up for site-targeting, but it feels like there's a war on to get on my home page.

I guessed spiking could be related to higher SERPs, but I dropped down again following recent Google dance and same type of daily earnings continue.

I maybe have been unsmartpriced again, but I do have concerns that higher EPC so suddenly could scare away top advertisers. I can only hope Google knows what it's doing.

Fingers crossed,

The Google Adwords Keyword Tool can show differences in bidding prices between singular and plural of important keywords.

Which keyword? The keyword in your title, headline, body text, anchor text, or...?

August earnings vs. September earnings are nearly the same for me. The only difference is one less day in September, so about a 3.5% drop this month.

Last year, September was better. That's because I had more traffic. So all in all, not too shabby this month.
