I know this has been discussed before but I think there's more to discuss so this time we do it in a more systematic way:

The days and nights
* I get up and I go check my sites and any other server work in progress.
* Then I check my adsense earnings.
* Do a bit of gardening once my wife leaves for work.
* Have breakfast.
* Continue work on any improvements on the site.
* Have lunch.
* take a nap or continue working.
* Wife returns in the evening.
* Have tea while watching tv and talking.
* Monitor the sites for a while and continue work if any is left.
* Have dinner
* Read stuff on the sites I visit
* Go to sleep

Leisure
* An occasional movie or a get together
* Weekly outing for shopping
* Visiting my grand mom on some occasions
* Try to train the dogs who make my life hell.
* Have endless cups of tea.
* Watch tv

Finance
* Car loan emi and any credit card debt paid off.
* Money to parents
* Rent and stuff
* Articles
* Salary - 2 Maids + 1 Driver
* Savings - almost none as there's almost always some big expense [yeah I know I need to save].

So how do you live your life?

So how do you live your life?

Shopping:
--Look for the red stickers on meat and poulty that's already on sale, because not only is it then up to 50% off, it's 50% off the sale price.
--Look behind the swinging doors at the back of the market to find the day old bread that's on clearance price.
--Never buy anything that isn't on clearance or at a sale price.(unless there's no toilet paper left and no more old phone books around the house)

Entertainment:
--Watch George Thorogood, Bonnie Raitt and Rolling Stones videos on YouTube
--Argue with people in threads at WebmasterWorld (for health reasons)*

*It helps keep the brain synapses [willamette.edu] active.

Roycerus, your life sounds reasonably sedate but what are we to make of this entry:

"Salary - 2 Maids + 1 Driver"

In the interest of economy, don't you think you could at least scale it back to one maid?

>old meat?

Meat = the flesh of dead animals.
And unless you have Ebay on your Adsense filter, you can have it advertised, new and used, on your very own website.

Hi jhood,
Labor is pretty cheap here in India. I have to pay about $200 total for the three employees. One maid cooks, one cleans and the driver of course drives the car for my wife when she goes to office. So its pretty economical.

Yeah life's pretty sedate - just wanted to see what others in my position do with their freedom.

Regards,
R

Morning
  • Wake up at 5:45am. Check Adsense earnings, email, anything wrong with site, etc...
  • Go to an early morning church class.
  • Come home and feed/play with dogs. Let them into the big kennel yard.
  • Go inside. Eat breakfast, and start working on website maintenance, add news, articles, etc...work on other people's websites (I work as a web designer as well)
  • I usually spend a couple of hours on my sites each day, and then move into my high school and college work. Which is all online. : )

Afternoon

  • Pick up brothers from school.
  • Eat lunch
  • Practice my vocals/piano for an hour
  • Water the dogs.

Night

  • Check emails
  • Dinner - For me, AND the dogs.
  • Read before bed
  • Finish anything I have been working on for the day.
  • Sleep!

Basically, I start my day early, and end it late. But within that time frame I get a lot done, and try and prioritize my time. As of now my website is my main source of income (online retailer, advertisers, etc...) but Adsense isn't yet my biggest producer. Mostly just there to cover hosting fees, etc...BUT I have the advantage of living with my parents since I am still young, so I don't have all that many bills! lol

Also, since I am home schooled AND work from home, I have a huge amount of freedom to build my own schedule. I think that by doing this I get to do a lot of things that most kids wouldn't be able to. And of course, I do enjoy being with kids my age, etc...I just have a different "job" than most kids! But at least I enjoy it!

I just wing it. Every day's different. I quit my job specifically so I could have days that look different from each other. Setting up any sort of rigid schedule would defeat the entire purpose.

Oh, and I buy old meat too. If I time it right, I can pick up steaks and other choice cuts for less than half price where I do my grocery shopping. It's not really old. It's just been out there a day or two longer than the other meat and they slash the price to make sure it sells.

It does.

It's aged, like a fine wine or myself!

Morning
Up at 5.30 AM to get my two teenagers out the door to school.
Check overnight e-mails & answer them.
Do site updates.
Go to bakery to buy the morning bread & juice for the B&B.
Return to e-mails, websites & PPC.
Clean pool & check chemicals.
Meet & greet guests & arrange any tours they need - scuba, snorkeling, fishing, horseback riding, etc.
Watch the ladies preparing lunch & cleaning the property & rooms.
Answer e-mails.

Afternoon
Have a few beers, enjoy the pool & wait for the guests to return from the beach.
Take care of any new guest needs.
Answer e-mails

Evening
That's for me & my lady

I enjoy Adsense, but I still have a full-time job.

When I'm there, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late and use the side door - that way the boss can't see me. After that, I sorta space out for an hour.

Yeah..., I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

:)

get up around noon
make coffee
check email
check my adsense and other aff stats
read a little webmaster world news and my other favorite forum
drink coffee
think about what I want to do for the day
either write, get or give links, or make other improvements
obsessively check adsense and other aff stats every hour or so, then I go for a walk, get something to eat, and go home and watch tv until 4 in the morning

I also spend some time each day worrying about what I'll do if I have to give up the adsense lifestyle, but I haven't come up with anything yet.

Your paying for old meat? Why not become a Freegan and get it outta the dumpster for free? Do a search for Freegan Dumpster Diving on you tube.

Bearly managing to survive here. Adsense has been a Godsend, because suffer with depression and don't have the confidence to go into mainstream work. If only I could earn more with AS. But I get by.

- Wake up check earnings
- Check Stats
I typically eat my breakfast whilst doing this.

- Then its off to work to stare at a wall for a few hours and also read blogs and learn more about the job.

- Then I typically code on side projects which I wish to complete soon.

I won't be quiting my full-time job any time soon until Its quite steady adsense wages. Also I plan not to depends on adsense.

1. Wake up 7am and try to make at least a coffee before checking Adsense earnings.
2. Check Adsense earnings.
3. Gesticulate wildly whilst cursing or gesticulate wildly whilst smiling having checked earnings.
3a. If smiling succumb to mood change and decide I should do better.
3b. If not smiling succumb to mood change as I realise that I’m in this for the enjoyment not the money.
6. Check bank account online. If bad return to point 2.
7. Make the coffee I haven’t had yet and drink whilst checking email/comments.
8. Take some time to talk to wife prior to her going to work only to realise she’s gone already. Read her note.
9. Try to set a target for number of posts to complete for each site.
10. Start trawling for latest news and releases.
11. Having spent 4hrs only to come up with stuff that another site I know would post, but that I won’t, wonder whether to tip them off or not. Decide not to.
12. Check Adsense earnings.
13. Realise that my target set in point 9 is wholly unrealistic if quality is to be maintained.
14. Post item referred to in point 11.
15. Lunchtime. Decide I’ll eat when I’ve at least posted 1 item to each of my sites.
16. Succumb to mild starvation.
17. Wife returns. Ask her how her day was and if I’ve eaten yet (a subtle way of gauging if day has been successful) then fill her in on my Adsense earnings, my CTR, my traffic levels, who’s linking and who’s blatantly ripped off one of my posts.
18. Wakes wife up.
19. Promise to spend some quality time with the wife.
20. Wife shouts upstairs that dinner’s ready just as I find a gem to post about.
21. Half way through posting wife calls again. Decide best break off to eat.
22. Come back with beer, check Adsense when feed reader pings. Open feed reader to see that another site has just posted about the aforementioned gem whilst I was eating. Down beer. Get another.
23. Eventually manage a few posts.
24. Bedtime. Wife asks if I’m going to sleep at all tonight. I promise I’m on my way.
25. Check Adsense. Cross figures to excel spreadsheet with custom macro that serves to underline my disappointment. Consider moving around ad units. Move bottom ad unit. Move bottom ad unit back.
26. Decide I had better go to bed.
27. Check wife’s asleep already, as suspected, return to work on more material.
30. Hours later wife appears. Get told off.
31. Go to bed.
32. Decide ad units could do with reorganising.
33. Check Adsense. Find earnings of $10,000 for the day. Smile.
34. Realise that I’m actually asleep and have been since point 33.
35. Return to point 1 whilst wondering what happened between points 3b and 6.
