My site has over 1000 pages, all html and each page has 1 to 3 ads.
its obvious that some ads are only paying pennies..about how can you find out what each ad is paying so to filter it?

I don't think there is any way to do that except block out specific urls and that may make your earnings even worse by allowing less advertisers.

blocking out the URL is my intention..I can for the most part tell which page the hits are coming from...example a page gets stumledapon...the hits to the page spike..so does the clicks (in less proportion) so .. lets say all the click avg 2 cents each I know its one of the ads on that page..problem is there are three ads and not the same if you refresh. So I guess my question still is...can I find the amount each pays? as per losing revenue...who cares if its 5k name recognition views for the ad and at 2% ctr at pennies per...

Google has tons of ads that pay only a few cents per click. I think even if you fill up your filter there will still be more.

You could try running less ads per page. Supposedly Google will display the highest paying ads. If you have three ad blocks, not every link can be a one-dollar click.

It is very difficult to filter out sites that "do not pay much", because you rarely get a chance to catch these.

You may try to find low-quality sites (e.g. parked pages, MFAs, thin-content sites, and the like). These usually go along with low EPC. To make the advertising work, they have to pay as little as possible. Also, as they do not need to take care of any content, they have the time to optimize their campaigns to increase their share of the pie.

I'd go after these sites and see which genuine advertisers will be left over (hint: not many).

Thanks for all of the input..
Guess I can hope that someone wants a big juice steak and follows thru on a referral ad...
