What the heck is this?

I just came across something very interesting while viewing a forum on another website. At the top of the screen was an AdSense ad, and below the ad I saw a curious phrase:

"This is an ad revenue sharing forum"

I don't need to name the website because if you Google the above phrase, it appears along with several other forums that are doing the same thing. In essence, here's how it works:
- If you start a thread, your AdSense client ID will be used a portion of the time on ads when the thread is displayed.
- If you reply to a thread, your AdSense client ID will be used a portion of the time on ads when your post is displayed.

That's the basic idea, although the few forums I checked out had other restrictions, like a minimum number of posts, no junk posts, etc.

Is this legitimate? Does this violate the TOS in any way?

Any Opinions? Would you participate in this? (I wouldn't)

It's been going on for years at some of the larger forums. I don't see anything in the AdSense TOS that prevents it.

this is actually OK,

I asked google, if you could have multiple different adsense user accounts rotated, that said its fine.

for like joint authors on a blog for example, each person receive $$ off their own post. was approved by google when I asked them.

i considered it for a large user contributer site, then barred it. too hard to monitor al the contributors content, and risky for the site being penalised for bad ocntent, dupe content etc

If there's a community site. Does anyone know if multiple members of an organization can sign up with the same google pub-ID? So when the ads were rotated they have a higher chance because the pub-Id shows up more?

I'm wondering because I'm contemplating offering it but don't want to do it for all members, I would rather just organizations at first, but they would be signed up through individual members.
