Hi all,

I recently started a website in my native language, so the content is not in english... The website is already receiveing pretyy good traffic from G, but there are still no relevant ads for my niche in my language.

So, I'm wondering if it is possible somehow to have ads in english language (there are plenty of them, competition is big for that niche in english language) on my website, that has non-english content?

or am I asking too much :)

Thanks

carpediem

Hi carpediem,

Here's the list of languages:

[google.com...]

AdSense is not permitted on pages with content primarily in an unsupported language.

My content IS written in supported language, just that there are no relevant ads in that language (yet).

Therefore I would like to have english language ads displayed for my niche... but that's probably not possible, so...

Maybe you could offer pages with an english translation of your content and put the AdSense code on those pages.

To have English ads your content must be majority in English. (G told me this).

If your ads do display in the wrong language, because your site uses 2 languages, G can give you a code to override automatic selection. But they specifically say that to use this code, the majority of the page must be in that language.

Trying to get English ads could backfire anyways, even if the tactics you use aren't "deceptive", i.e. don't misrepresent the true content of the website. If clicks are coming from people who are unlikely to buy the advertised product, or maybe cannot read the ads at all, then you'll inevitably be smart priced back to where you started.

If you run an english language site and view it in a non-english speaking country, you will see at least some adsense ads in the local language.

Surely this should work the other way round too, so if a site is in a non-english language, you would occasionally see an ad in english?
