There was no fixed pattern initially but gradually started checking once in a day. After MFA cleaning from 1st June, everything got disturbed and I was back to square one. checking almost every hour whenever possible.

Now again calm down ..and checking once in a week.

How about you?

It depends on what's going on. My account goes through prolonged periods of totally boring stability where I may only check it two or three times a week. When things aren't stable I check more often, four or five times a day easily.

I'm not really sure why I do it but there it is...

How do you make a living at adsense. I feel I have went as far as I can with mine. $300.00 a month and now down to $50.00

I don't have to check.

I have the AdSense Status notifier in my Google sidebar.

I used to check like 7 times a day. Then worked down to once a day. After a dramatic increase in traffic about six weeks ago I' back to around twice a day.

Once I'm confident this traffic is going to stick I'll probably be back at once a day.

I don't doubt that at all.. spamming guestbooks only goes so far, eh?

No Im not. Trust me there isnt any tricks. Or if there are I dont know about them. If there were and it didnt convert for the advertiser then it would be pretty short lived.

Add the Google desktop sidebar:
[desktop.google.com...]

Once you do that go to the gadgets section and go to the AdSense Status plugin.

I used to check our stats hourly, we earn UPS club numbers but lately ive found my roi is better finding new revenue streams and growing our income from affiliates and other partners which has knocked me down to twice a day checking stats.

After reading some of the threads, I am feeling it is potentially dangerous not to open adsense for a week or so because if there is some importatnt notice or a warning about my site it will be ignored for a week and that may send a wrong signal.

I guess once in a day is ideal.

I think whenever possible, it is best to check it once in the morning, and once in the evening. Roughly every 12 hours.

This way you'll never experience any problems beyond that time period, just to be safe.

I check several times a day. It has given me an insight into the pattern of earnings. Often, the e-CPM is huge at the beginning of the day but it tends to even out during the rest of the day. Also, some days give a higher e-CPM compared to others.
Is that information of any use to me? It could be. Looking at the stats hourly I can also see that some types of ad units may be doing particularly well on a given day. So I might be tempted to include more of that type of ad unit at the expense of other types of ad unit for a couple of hours. I've tried that and it just doesn't seem to work. Not sure why. But clear trends can be seen by looking at the stats hourly on occasions. And it only takes 30 seconds.
