TOO Much Adsense?

Any thoughts on what I am thinking?

In my site I am going to start experimenting with different Adsense formats, etc...

What I have decided is that I would like to put an Adsense horizontal bar right before the beginning of each article, and one AFTER the article.

Do you think this is TOO much advertising?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

There's no way to answer that without seeing your page design, and knowing about your readers.

It doesn't matter what you think, still less what I think. What matters is what your target audience will think.

Also, the page design is key to the amount of ads that will be acceptable and effective, and the proportion of ads to editorial content. And the placing of the ads.

Start by looking at Google's Adsense help [ages, which may give some ideas. then look at your competitors; see how they handle ads.

It also depends on whether ads are your only income, or supplementary to sales or other lines (do you want every visitor to click on adsense, or is that a reserve for those who do not buy?

I would say doing a medium rectangle at the beginning of the article either floated left or right. Then do the horizontal on the bottom.

that's fine. It's even effective. AS only allow you to place a max. of 3 ad formats on a single page so it's fine.

This is Adsense's own advice on placement:

The only real answer to this question is to do A/B test with various ad formats and colors on popular pages to see which ones pay the best.

You can use a banner ad rotator like phpAds or a hosted program to perform the rotation on your AdSense code, it's quite simple.
