Hi people!

I need some help here. I have set up Google adsense to show ads from another URL. Now I am trying to test how are my alternative ads look like, hoping that adsense will not find relevant ads for any page at any time. But this never happens. Adsense is always serving ads, so now I am not able to test.

Is there any way to force google to show the alternative ads?

Greetings,
Todor

I've noticed that when I implement AdSense code on a new domain, it shows PSA's at first. So you might be able to try it out by publishing a test page on a domain that has not yet been used for AdSense.

Well, because I was curious and don't feel like doing any real work right now, I tested the theory from my previous message. Of course, now that I *want* PSA's to show up, they will not. I started getting regular ads in spite of the fact that there is no content on the page and the domain has never been used with AdSense.

BUT... I did figure out a way you can test this: I made a test.html file that has nothing in it except AdSense code, and I ran it from my hard drive. When the google_alternate_ad_url is specified, it displays the alternate ad. Without the google_alternate_ad_url line, it displays the Hurricane Relief PSA.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your efforts timwestla. It seems that your way worked for me.
