EPC Skyrocketing

My EPC has gone up by a factor of 5 or 6 over the last 30 days and seems to be holding there. This is across several sites and I've made no site/page changes. In fact, I have been working on something else and have ignored these sites the last few months.

Is anyone else seeing a dramatic change in EPC?

I didn't think EPC ever went up. From what I read at webmasterworld, it only goes down. Nothing ever gets better, only worse and everyone complains about Google.

You must be mistaken.

Wow, if I had that I'd easily be back in the UPS club!

Since 07.07.07 my EPC has gone up by 50% which has been a nice bonus since it had slowly been reducing month by month, it's a pity that the increase has been mostly wiped out by a depreciating US Dollar.

Same here 50pc up over 6 weeks or so.
Advertisers can choose to block the arb sites now as they have their new reports to check on!(or low quality or just because they dont like the colour!)

Plus most of the money sucking adwords/adsense sites were removed from the system. They now do adwords/other (overture?) and so instead of taking money from the network are adding a little. Although how that ads to the user experience I will never know.

Beren,

Love it, I needed your bit of humor this morning. :)

My EPC has gone up and down, but it has never skyrocketed. Once I saw it double from one day to the next. It always seems to be within 25% from day to day.

EPC going up or down can only be judged relative to earnings. On its own it means very little, unless the number of clicks remains stable.

It is also relative to the number of clicks/pageviews as a site which only has 4 clicks a day with an EPC rocketing doesn't really mean much.

More specifics such as EPC in relation to CTR are needed, so that a proper evaluation can be made.

Easygoin,

That's right. My click numbers have been stable and I've actually directed a little more targeted traffic to the sites to take advantage of the surge in EPC. It has remained steady. I should note that I am not a large adsense publisher. We're talking about going from a few hundred $ a month before the increase.

But, maybe beren is right. I could be mistaken!
