Hi, I am struggling to make any money with Adsense. I have earnt around $70 over 6 months with 3 different websites.

One of them is a mesothelioma cancer related in Australia -

a .com.au site

and every click pays high - but I am struggling to get visitors to actually click on the ads or visit the site.

The amount of work required to get people to visit does not compare to the returns.

Has anyone else experienced this and should I give up?

Regards

Brett.

I forgot to welcome you to WebmasterWorld!

That said, what aspect of the asbestos business do you support? Are you a Dr.?

My asbestos pages get your $ amount every week.

Perhaps your MFA site does not have enough content and variety of asbestos topics?

Maybe AdSense isn't "EasyCash".

You'd likely make more money and have more fun if you worked with topics that naturally had more traffic. Don't be seduced into unrealistic expectations just because a certain topic area has high click prices.

Also, those high click prices may not be as high as you think they are. Smart advertisers have undoubtedly discovered that, by bidding low on keywords like "mesothelioma," they can get placement on thousands of sites that are competing for a small number of high-paying clicks.

Brett a.k.a. EasyCash,

Sorry I can't help much. I'm going the route "content is king" and slow and steady wins the race. I'm not in it for quick cash so I have no MFA sites.

I think the other guys have summed it up pretty well. If everyone jumps on the mesothelioma bandwagon, there's only so much traffic to go around.

I had a mesothelioma ad show up on my website and filtered it immediately...was it yours?

Keep on plugging, just a few more of those and you will see even that small amount going down...btw, welcome to the board.

buckworks has it right...

Do you have a genuine interest in mesothelioma? Or did you build this site for a chance to make some adsense cash?

If you built the mesothelioma site simply because you thought it would give some high $ clicks...forget about it. I just did a quick search and there's many content sites about people that are genuinely concerned, and are suffering with mesothelioma. Many of the sites had no ads, they were strictly for the benefit of people who wanted to be educated. Basically, those sites will trump an adsense based site anyday. If your main interest is in generating revenue, drop the mesothelioma site. Don't clutter the results for people that are looking for genuine well researched information. It really becomes a question of ethics.

I apologize if I've made false assumptions. I did get a little angry when further in the search results were basically sites that copy and paste information from wikipedia and plastered ads all over the place so that you couldn't determine what's an ad and what is content.

You may very well be creating quality content and looking at adsense as a way to help fund that. If that's the case, perhaps adsense simply is not the revenue generator for you. I rarely use adsense for content anymore, I've had good results with adsense for search. I've been slowly moving away from adsense and finding affiliates that fit my content better. I believe the generated revenue is more, and the experience for my audience is better. However, an affiliate for mesothelioma....jeez, I couldn't tell you, but give a look around you may find something that fits.

Perhaps if the site isn't generating a considerable income, how 'bout leaving the site up as-is as a public service, but instead of ads put up information on how to donate to research on fighting mesothelioma? You may not receive $$ from it but you'll get a warm tingly feeling.

I think you should give up and I'm very serious. Your screen name says a lot about you and your intentions.

I seriously doubt that there is any original content on your meso site that is of any value.

Too funny, this has to be a joke post.

MesoT pays $100 a click? Cool, all you have to do is put up a website on the subject and travel from state to state - go to libraries and click on your own ads. Two clicks a day = $200. You can deduct your travel, food, and lodging expenses.

Life is so easy!

I Pet Dogs also has it right!

Even the most arcane niche sites have a lot of competition today.
If your site is skimpy, poorly laid out, no valid, needed content etc.
Then you need re-think it, re-write it, re-construct it or reboot and
move on! KF
