28,10 $ so far for this day. that's about 6 cent per click.
hard times. but let's get deeper into it: 452 people proven to be actually interested in my advertisements, clicking on the advertising message and 28,10 $ earnings (maybe smartpriced, who knows?). i think that this is very very few money compared to the resources of people who actually sell goods. ok, this is the market situation and this is adsense. when you look at your ads, only a part of advertisers are real retailers, many do desperately want to earn money in the wrong way through mfa/garbitrage. and as a publisher, adsense is by far the most money you can get out of your clicks, most of you know that. it's outperforming other advertising programs ten fold, sometimes hundred fold, more than ever in regions where there is no halfway approximate contextual alternative like ypn and msn - and that's almost the whole world outside the united states.
ok, i can live with that, but don't you ask yourself sometimes: isn't it still a little bit kind of few compared to print or tv (speak: all the other) advertising? i believe advertisers who have actually really somthing to sell or promote (like other advertisers in the "old" print and tv market) have the unique chance to realize huuuuge profits on the internet at the moment if they don't behave stupidly. advertising on the net is incredibly scalable and efficient.
it's just that a) publishers find themselves in an abolutely high competitive market these days and b) potential advertisers still don't realize the open door that is so much outperforming conventional advertising methods.
with the advantage of internet stats, people are actually really proven to be interested in their products and potential customers can be acquired for laughable amounts of money..
just a random rant.. what do you think? do you think the tide will turn in the next years (further) towards your favor? other sources of income put aside: what is your perspective adsense-wise?
do you think the tide will turn in the next years (further) towards your favor
Where I personally fit in the overall scheme of things I have no idea. I seem to be holding my own at the moment and am taking that as a good sign.
