I have not checked recently, but I noticed a while ago Digg used one key phrase to section target. I did some testing a long time ago with a few sentences vs. a whole page and noticed very little difference in the ads that were displaying. I think it's only really needed to exclude content that is specifically NOT on topic to your page.

I was concerned about the minimum amount of words between the section targeting as the words entered were by my users. Some users may use a few words while others would enter a novel. I didn't want it to look like I was "gaming" adsense.

The google adsense rep pretty much said target any content on the page that I wished. The section targeted would be weighted but the rest of the page would still be taken into account when delivering ads.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.
