Hi people!

I've been searching for information on this problem, but I was not able to find anything, so i decided to ask you adsense experts.

My question is: Am I allowed to change the ad unit default size? The situation is that the size 160x600 is too wide for the left column of my website, so I manually changed it to 155x600?

Will google ban my account for this?

Best Regards
Todor

No, you are not allowed to change the ad unit size and Google is likely to cite you for breaking their TOS.

There is a 120x600, but I'm guessing this leaves too much space on the right and left (for your website)?

Thank you for the quick answer. I am going to change the width back to 160px, because I don't want to have troubles with Google.

I will try to widen the left column, I am only 5 px short on it.

The formats Google Adsense uses for its adpanels (468x60, 728x90, 300x250, 120x600, 160x600 etc.) all conform to Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) standard sizes.

I understand and accept you're not allowed to change ad sizes, but why do Google make height and width as editable variables within the onpage javascript? It doesn't make any sense.
