Next target is $100 a day :)
Thanks to everyone who posts here. Everything I know I learned here!
The good sign is that I earned nothing 10 days before :) or maybe 0.01 - 0.20$ per day... :)

What makes it even better is that about a year ago I wasn't going anywhere with it. I was spending too much time trying to find lazy ways to succeed. As soon as I gave up that direction, put a bit of work in and did something useful things started to work for me! who would have figured it? :)
About 6 months ago I felt like I was flogging a dead horse..my traffic was increasing slowly but earnings never seemed to increase. I think that basically I was sending low quality traffic and this was recognisable. Basically the new traffic I was gaining was not really related to my theme... I was succeeding in getting unrelated traffic but it wasn't doing me any good.
My sites (2) were very low tech... no user inputted content. I spent a few weeks looking for a suitable script to modify and then spent a hard 6 weeks putting together a site very similiar to one I already had. I launched it in December and it took less than 6 weeks to overtake the traffic on my other site. In the space of 4 months it collected about 2000 one way links (most worthless)
1 thing worth noting...the domain for the new site had content on it for 3 years so it wasn't new!
I achieved in 2 months what it took me 3 years to do with the other site. I was stunned and spent a few weeks scratching my head... then I spent another 4 weeks modernising the old site with the same script and after about 10 hours of working on my htaccess and 301.ing that site is starting to produce similiar results now.
Pageviews per visitor were 2.1 now they are 7.9
which suggests to me that my sites were not exactly catching the interest of the surfing public :)
I have now entered the world of trying to get users to supply my content and I love it!
very similar to you, it took me 8 months to go from $5/month to $1,000/month. But I didn't modify the site to reach the goal, I just keep adding content. I've been stuck around $1,000 - rising and falling, for a while now. I have one site and I think it could do twice the revenue. I add content, but everything on my site is static, there's no user input or interaction. I too feel the way you did - my personal favorite sites are all about visitor to visitor discussions on page subjects. Currently, my repeat traffic is less than 5% - all other traffic is natural SERPS.
Thanks for posting, this will help me move in the right direction. I looked at LinksSQL, did you purchase the package? I don't want to add a forum to the site, I want meaningful discussion (reviews) on the subjects, but with the least amount of moderating. If you can offer more info on this, please do. One thing that I like is having a reviews section in a pop-up page - that way, all comments are off the main page but this still allows for discussion.
about 300-400 pages. each page is at least 1,000 words. I have sections that make more, some make less. SERPs traffic is steady (except for Google hiccups). I get about 3,000 to 4,000 uniques a day. Average page view of only 1.5-2 pages / visit. 95% new traffic / 5% repeat. I think OP's strategy will work for me: it will increase page views and repeat traffic.
