From the AdSense FAQ:

Once you verify your email address, we'll review your application and follow up with you via email within 2-3 days.

Yes deep, I just registered with adsense a little over a month ago. I waited about 3 or 4 days and then sent an email because I was ready. They wrote back and told me to be patient. I got registered the next day.
So a week more or less.
