Invalid clicks perhaps? Or maybe Google decided to keep 99% of the revenue which I doubt because as one other member tried to convince us Google even increased the share of revenue to publisher in 1Q/2007
Five days is not a lot of time - it could be that you aren't yet getting many appropriate ads yet. The targeting sometimes is instantaneously good, other times it takes longer to serve up the ads that are best for a site. Personally, I would give it more time to see what happens, but if it stays that low for a long period, there may be some other issue and it may not be the right program for your site.
we're doing 2 ad placements... also, the site is framed... would that have an effect?
thanks for all your advice

Yesterday our site recieved 82,440 Impressions and 17 Clicks, and for this only made 2 cents.
First, a CTR of 0.02% is plain scary and points to a huge problem. From looking at the site, I think it's mostly the ad placement. Nobody sees the ads (ad blindness mostly). Those who do - well, they seem do not bother to click.
The ad in the right frame is totally off-topic while the ad below the main page shows at least some relevance. Think about getting rid of the right frame.
Also, you should give Google time to understand your content. For me, it took about six weeks (back in 2005) until CTR went to a normal level.
The extremely low payout seems to be mostly related to the fact that you (currently) have indeed just low-paying ads. Once targeting gets better, EPC will probably go up.
But keep an eye on the MFA crowd (to learn more, search the forum for "MFA blocking"). There have been reports that MFAs may reduce your EPC significantly.
In addition to reading the WebmasterWorld TOS, you should also read those for Adsense because you're breaking their TOS too by publishing these statistics.
You might want to look at heat maps and such to make sure you've optimize the location of your ads. Finally, have you look at the ads themselves? Does the targeting appear correct?
To answer your questions - something is fundamentally wrong.

does this seem right to anybody? Are these numbers way off? or is this normal?
HELP! I thought you make money when people enter your website, so is it only when they click on the ads or is there another way of doing it?
many thanks in advance
