Want to stop ads from displaying on a test site

I have a test site. Which is a replica of my main site. To do any testing, I first do it on the test site and then finalize it on the main site.

The problem is, I have adsense on the test site. The only visitor to the test site is me. So, the adsense impressions are served on the test site and since nobody clicks on the ads of the test site, those impressions just get wasted and increase the impressions number and lower the CTR.

2 questions about this....

Does this lower CTR have any effect on adsense earnings?

Is there any way of setting the ads up such that on the test site, no ads are served?

Thanks!

Use channels.

Make a 'test' channel for that site, and others for the real thing.

Then you can see the difference in your reports.

Having ads on the test site will not in any way lower your income.
