Bought Adult Traffic - Got Smartpriced

Hi have a auto/techno site, no explicit adult content, but I recently started buying some explicit adult related keywords on AdWords to the site.

I know it is fully legit to buy adult keywords on AdWords.

But, them bam I got smartpriced. Only 1/6 the of previous income per click.
Might the adult keyword traffic have caused the smartpricing?
Should I aim to remove this adult inbound traffic in my efforts to remove the smartpricing?

Were you using adwords with other keywords prior to that?
i.e. Did you just start with adwords and adult keywords?

Yes I have been doing both AdWords and AdSense for some time without the adult keywords.

The adult keywrods were new some 2 weeks ago.

Yet I have many sites and have made quite a few changes lately so I am unable to say for sure if this is the change that caused the smartpricing.

If your site doesn't have adult content, and you buy adult keywords, and smartpricing is about having content that doesn't convert well for your advertisers ....

This is exactly why Google is cracking down on arbitrage sites. I don't know how you could have expected it to work out any different.

It seems my AdSense for search is holding up and seem not affected by the smartpricing.
Referrals is also still holding up.
That is just an interesting piece of information for anyone smartpriced.
I will make them more prominent as I work my way back.
Have also turned off the adult inbound traffic - will let you know.

Are you sure that the smart pricing wasn't released due to you using Adwords? ;)
