Don't show ads to registered site members.

Starting an experiment, what's your experience?

I finally created two new channels: Members and Non-members, and added them to all my AdSense code. Will monitor and report back here, but those of you who run forum or membership-based sites, have you tried this before? My hypothesis is that members are more ad-blind... If the stats prove it, then removing ads for registered members would improve eCPM/possibly minimize smart pricing problems, no?

Any experience/comments/ideas about this would be appreciated.

I give my members the option of turning off the ad blocks. If they say they don't want them, I expect that they won't click them anyway.

I should've waited longer, but I'm impatient...

After one day, the stats were staggering. Members had CTR of only 0.23% and non-members were at 1.97%! I've removed ads for members, will see if eCPM goes up at all.

I have contemplated doing this as well, but I figured my site might look empty without the ads ;)
