Odd day-to-day variations?

If traffic and clicks go up, shouldn't revenue?

I've read about lots of head-scratching over strange year-over-year Adsense performance -- a site will double its traffic but revenue won't go up, that sort of thing.

But what about in the very short term, say day-over-day? If I have a site that hasn't changed a SINGLE THING from one day to the next and I have MORE traffic and MORE clicks, shouldn't I expect to see MORE money at the end of the day? Wouldn't you think a 30 percent DROP the very next day would be unusual?

Or is this just par for the course for Adsense craziness?

Thanks, Asa

It's perfectly normal. It all depends on what the particular ads getting clicked are paying at the time they are clicked.

...and advertiser money coming and going. That can cause some pretty wild swings as well.
