Until last month I used to get an average CPC of $0.5.
Since last month, it's been $0.10.
Does anyone know the reason?
I didn't change a thing.
What can I do to get my high CPC back?
I know the ads didn't change because I can see them with google preview tool. Once I had ads that made me $2 - 10$ per click. Now all I get is $0.10 for the same page, and probably the same ads.
Thank you.
If I was smartpriced I'd know it because I'd get $0.01 per click.
Not necessarily. In fact, given the suddenness of your drop in EPC, I'd guess that smart pricing is the most likely explanation.
BTW, the AdSense rules prohibit sharing of AdSense statistics other than total earnings, so you might want to be careful about what you reveal on public forums (aat least under your real name).
By the way, it's worth noting that CPC ("cost per click") is an advertiser metric. The publisher equivalent is "earnings per click," or EPC. The difference in terminology is meaningful because, at least in theory, an advertiser could pay the same CPC for the same ad on two sites, while the publishers of those two sites might receive different EPC, depending on how Google's compensation formula works.
Shouldn't google display the high paying ads first? The best ones should display first buy many seem to think MFA's somehow bully their way into your site, I tend to think they show up when good advertisers are not around. They're more of a symptom than a cause. That's one of the reason I think trying to block your current highest paying advertisers is a bit foolish.
If so, how is it possible that MFA ads are displayed on my website?
As to your particular case, how long did you make $2 to $10 on clicks? If it was less than at least a 1/4 year I don't think it can be considered a standard but more of a fluke.
With a $10 click I think the ad campaign will be pulled moments after a publisher figures out how to get those clicks which from the advertisers side will look like a huge drop in ROI.
