I've been meaning to write this post for a very long time; new year seemed the most appropriate after lurking for so many years.
In December 2006 I managed my first month of consecutive $20+ days on adsense. Arguably $600/month isn't much more than eyeblink for the big players here but that $600 got me through university in London every month. When I think back now to the nights eating beans on toast; drawing a personal cheque for 1 pound over the counter at Natwest to get the bus home; not being able to buy a valentine's gift for my girlfriend... well, all those hardships were worth it now I've graduated!
And it was only possible because of Adsense and the sterling advice bequeathed by the fine chaps here. You see, if I hadn't lived hand-to-mouth from one adsense cheque to the next on the 28th of every month I would've been forced to quit university in the very first semester. But from my first faltering starts in 2004 to my beautifully-adsensed content website of 2007 - its all down to the valuable lessons I've learned here, lurking quietly in the shadows.
So do what you will with this post, it is simply a heartfelt thankyou to the aspirational and inspirational members of Webmasterworld: helping far more people eke out a living every day than you probably imagine.
