I have been tooling along making a hundred to two or so per month over the past 6 months after a creep from near zero the first 2 months. I went into making over 600 in a 14 day stretch that died just before Xmas and now I'm making less per day (with same traffic 12-14K imp/day) than I was before Xmas.
Anyone notice a tremendous spike just before the holidays that suffered a tragic death on Dec 26th?
Also - I have done some searching to little find but are there any tools to allow deeper inspection of how gogle comes about which ads and how much per add that activley place on your site? Or is it just beat around the periphery to get an idea.
This is a great resource that I'm glad I've found. I hope to get competent enough to give as well as take...
I think it is quite common to have spikes with adsense with same level of traffic. I have also noticed increase in site targeted ads. Hope it will continue in rest of 2007.
From the timing it obviously sounds like Christmas was involved in some way. Anyway the first step is to look at your stats. Was it your impressions, your CTR, the amount you were paid per click, or some combination of these that jumped?

On the contrary - I see a pretty significant drop during this time period.
What the heck is wrong with these people that think it's OK to go out shopping, and partying and visiting family anyway?
Don't they know what they're doing to me?
They should get their butts back at their computer and click on my site, CLICK I SAY!
Sheesh.
I can understand your pain. I had my worst day and best day for the past year in Dec. Maybe things will pick-up when Government employees return back to work tommorow.
I resemble that remark. However from personal experience I must add we Public Sector Employees spemd more time downloading video than clicking ads - at least in my experience ;)
As for the ecpm, heading for an all time low 19k impressions and some kid on a bike yelling he want's his 2 dollars back.
