banned and reinstated: small publisher

After looking through "i've been banned" threads I though it is almost impossible to get reinstated if you are a "very small" publisher.

But I was wrong. My account have been reinstated recently. This confirms that Google value each and every publisher, regardless of the size.

This is the best New Year gift I could think of :)

My advise would be: report to Google AdSense Support each time you notice unusual activity on your site(s) (clicks or impressions).

Hope this info will help people to feel more confident after reading all those "i've been banned" threads.

Was the original ban in error, or have you succeeded on persuading Google that whatever the transgression was, it in now rectified?

Presumably you needed to apply to be re-instated. Are you able to provide any explanations or advice on how to go about getting reinstated?

And how long did it take?

I mean, I have this dark feeling it's probably a very long and tiring process... ;)

Since I'm a small-size publisher it was easy to see "invalid click activity", that day I've got about 10 times more clicks I usually get per day. Notified AdSense as soon as noticed those clicks. Seems like somebody wanted to kick me out of AdSense (or maybe it was some thankful visitor). In about a week got banned for invalid clicks/impressions, but after appeal was reinstated.
This scenario most probably would not work for "big-guys", since that count of clicks could be considered to be a fluctuation.

Presumably you needed to apply to be re-instated. Are you able to provide any explanations or advice on how to go about getting reinstated?

Email with a link to appeal form is sent to you when AdSense account get banned. Try searching "adsense appeal" to find appeal form. Fill it, send, and wait. Think the fact that i notified AdSense support of invalid clicks asap helped in my situation, but not sure.

Anyway, now I'm thinking about installing some click-fraud detection software to avoid further unusual clicks activity.

According to information on the appeal form it can take from one day to ...

Found this thread
[webmasterworld.com...]

It was posted 30 Nov, banned day before Thanksgiving. Difference about a week.

Same in my case, about a week.

Thanks joelgreen

Sounds as if there's hope if one ever gets banned - provided you are clean of course.

Was there any particular evidence that you were able to provide that helped your case?

Pengi, no particular evidence. I could not find anything strange in site logs. No excesive page reloads. That is what I put on appeal form, along with my readiness to provide any data they were interested in (server logs / google analytics account data, etc).

Link to an appeal form in email is encouraging.

Hi,

Just came across this and thought I'd add my bit. I also found an older thread from 2005 with loads of info on the same subject (forum89/5794).

I too have been ousted from adsense for the dreaded invalid clicks - and I'd only just got started up, so you can imagine what that has done to my confidence. I'm in the same boat in that I have no idea where the so-called invalid clicks came from and google wouldn't elaborate.

Its encouraging to hear that someone has managed to be reinstated after a couple of months, so maybe there is still hope - I'll have to wait a while and see.
