Did anyone find it helpful?

Hi,

Like many here, I was invited to have my site "optimized" by someone at Google. While I appreciate what Google is doing, I was rather disappointed in how little help they provided.

Granted, they can't know my site like I do and the particular page they focused on is hopeless in terms of garnering any significant revenue. Still, there basic suggestion was to basically plaster adsense inline ads all over the page, sneaking two of them in within the content (or should I call it "blending").

Either way, was sort of hoping for more from Google then just "plaster ads all over the page" and blend them so well sooner or later someone will click on them "accidentally."

Did anyone find they received some useful tips from Google on optimization?

They tell you (or they did me anyway) that you are not supposed to tell what has been suggested, the communication is supposed to be confidentual... Why I don't know, didn't see anything that would be considered "secret" in our conversations. Still it's a good idea to keep the exact details of what they suggested to yourself (if your letter inviting you to have an ad rep. said this too)...

I just finished implementing the changes Google suggested for my site and I have to say I was amazed! Everything moved upwards for me and I have to say the suggestions were something I never would have considered. In your case, it could be that you already have optimized your site to its fullest potential and there was not much more that could be done.
