No URLs please. (Read the TOS).

So, this is a large question - how longs a bit of string?

It depends really, you need to have a good website, building up content building up traffic there are several forums in here for each subject.

You're question should be, how do I get lots of traffic to my good website first and then how do I make money from it.

Using Adwords, I achieved $19 on my first full day.

Unfortuately it cost me more than twice for the AdWords clicks! I learned my lesson and recovered the loss within two weeks.

Without buying traffic, it will, of course totally depend on how much traffic your site receives - as well as how attractive the ads on it are. I've no doubt that some who are skilled in the art of Search Engine Optimisation and have somesuitable content are able to exceed $5 a day within days of putting up a new site.

It's simple math....

more visitors = more clicks.
My click through rate has stayed generally the same throughout the years, but traffic has increased 10 fold.

hi,

in my view, it doesnot matter when u make your first 5$,
but how often you are making it,
i made 10+$ one day
and next day my earnings are less than 5$...

so dont think abt achieving it just once...

remember....
" success is not a destination,
its a continuous journey "

so try to make that amount everyday,

good luck.

5.00 per day is incredibly low. A site preforming that poorly is either a not-so-popular niche with little to no traffic, or you need to seriously consider re-coloring, re-positioning your ads.

Not saying your site is "bad" (not even seen it), just that is a very low adsense goal considering adsense is pretty much the best paying turnkey ad network.

The question you should ask yourself is not if $5 is good or not but "is my CTR good or not?" and "is my revenue per clic is good or not?"

5.00 per day is incredibly low.

It may be for you, but for many that are just beginning with their websites, this is a major goal... I remember when I started, my goal was to reach enough to cover hosting. (about 50 cents a day)

Anyway, with some work, you should be able to reach it quite easily within about 6 months (probably earlier)

Just follow a few basic rules...

- make an interesting site with some unique content
- promote your site legitimately
- do not buy 'cheap or bad traffic'
- and of course, do not click your own ads, or incite others to do so...

how is $5 not significant?if i made $5 a day i would be jumping around, cos then i would be thinking to myself to either put in the same amount of work again to improve the site and maybe go for $10 a day, or make another website. If i continued doing the latter, with 20 websites you would be making £20,000 a year pre-tax. duff man says oh yeah! so $5 is certainly not insignificant especially in the grand scheme of things when you then know what can be acheived if you continue to put in the work to improve your site or make a new one.

i still havent put my site live, i also wonder how long it will take to make $5 a day

Every milestone is significant and here is always another milestone around the corner.

Continually having new targets to achieve is part of the appeal of this business.

You can get just as much of a buzz from your first $5 day as from your first $100 month and so on.

Good luck daniell and keep building.

Well, if 12Y(2)/14Z(3) = 15B(4)*16C(5) and R*S*T > U*V*W
then you should reach the $5 a day mark in 126,43 days.
But you must of course add one day for every vice-president who doesn't know how to spell potatoes. Hope this clarifies.

Humble, you may have to use a calculator instead of doing it in your head.
The actual solution is R*S*T < U*V*W,
you forgot to carry the remainder from X*Y.

Remember, always carry left of the decimal point.

Either that or stop confusing the math equations with Tire sizes.

Thanks for the correction Jake. Next time Jake and I will show you folks the calculation for how many days it will take you to get banned. Don't miss it!

Look at your current page epcm and traffic then extrapolate out what type of traffic you would need to equal $5.00 a day. You could even just figure it out without any real math, for example if you're making $1.00 a day on 100 visitors it's pretty safe to say you will need 400 more visitors of equal quality to reach your goal.

$5.00 a day is not bad for a new webmaster starting a new website.

I concure on the CTR thing. When I said it was low, it is not an insult, it's just well... Low (IMO anyway). Your site might be totally fantastic, I never saw it.

The person saying the CTR is important correct. dead-on. CPC is also important, but you can control CTR easier.

I would look at ad placement, colors and borders, maybe try link units. By all means search around here at WW for marketing tips, SEO tips and duplicate content avoidance.

Anyway, best of luck to you on your site. I guess it seems very low to me because my sites were established well before joining adsense.

Your best focus is CTR IMHO.

My guess is that your best focus would be to add and improve content to increase visitor numbers.

Maybe if you are already receiving >1000 uniques per day CTR is more of an issue.

I'm assuming that your traffic is natural/SERPS - I beleive that a good average CTR for this sort of traffic would be less than 5% (I'm sure others will correct me here)

Gee.. quite a lot of work to get $5 per day for a brand new site. :(

Thanks for all your comments on some rought calculation, I kind of get a clearer figure about revenue from Adsense.

5.00 per day is incredibly low.

And the average daily payout to AdSense publishers is much lower than that.
