Another great year with Adsense.

Record year coming to a close.

Thought I would share some positive information. I get tired of always seeing negative posts about the Adsense Program.

This month will end another record year for Adsense revenue. Up to this point I am up about 125% over last year.

The single most contributing factor was a change I made at the beginning of the year placing a single ad unit close to the top of all pages except for my home page.

The second leading contributing factor was my steady placements in the SERPS. After 6 years I finally had a year were I remained steady at the top of the SERPS. There was a month that I disappeared and lost 50% of my revenue for that month but for the most part it was a great year.

My biggest regret was waiting two years to experiment with ad placement. (DON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE)

Congrats!

>My biggest regret was waiting two years to experiment with ad placement.

Noooo.....don't do that! Experiment all the time! A few weeks should be long enough to measure the response.....so change often. If nothing else it might confuse the user ;)

I'm one of those that knock Adsence often, it makes me money, but, less than I would ideally like!

So my "Knocking" of Adsence is really just encouragement for them to improve! We can all do better, the publishers, the providers and the advertisers.....but, without feedback (sometimes harsh) we will all get lazy and do nothing to make life better!

Congratulations G_Smitty, I'd like to post some positive news as well. I'm up 86.5% in Adsense revenue from this time last year. My biggest lesson was to just keeping plugging away at content to get hits on more keywords.

I'm having a good year also. Mostly because of ad placement--a big rectangle under the heading.

I'm finally starting to make enough to pay off the debts that I ran up when I wasn't even making enough to survive on.

Thanks Google, for saving me from the wage slave life.

I don't make much money from adsense, but I don't bash what I don't understand. When I think back over the year, I am appreciative that I have learned so much about internet marketing. But there is still always something to learn, and something to improve upon.

This month I'm down about 30% from last year on this month. I'm making about 1/3 of what I did in my peak month of May. I've been in the program a year and a half. Could be worse, definately could be better.

Good to hear, thanks for sharing! I'm still not making much more then 20/30 a month but am starting to experiment more with ads and placement. *crosses fingers*

I'm up a nice 90% over last year. Still just plugging along - not making a ton - but certainly more than I ever thought possible.

Yep, its a good time to be thankful.

for those who have hundreds of percents increase, would be nice if you add:

- how long does your site exist? did you receive a massive traffic spike this year? how big is your site traffic-wise?
- for how long have you been with adsense? were you a newbie last year? are you a late adopter?
- from which income level do you come? if you earned 50$/month last year and now 200$/month that doesn't impress anyone.

sorry to spoil the party, but unless these questions aren't sufficiently answered, it doesn't make any sense at all.

ah and by the way: no record year for me :/

- site is about 4 years old
- adsense member since over 2,5 years
- 6 digits uniques/month
- steady traffic
- 4 digits income/month

reasons for decline:

- huge competition inrush
- restricted resources of time
- market saturation of visitor traffic
- ..and obviously people click less

clicks down 40%
ctr down 15%
ecpm down 15%
epc stable
earnings down 40%

cmon google gimme some more - i know you can do it better! :)

anyway, thank you santa goog, thank you webmasterworld members.
(being a good boy..)

Site is over 6 years old.
Been with Adsense for Over 3 Years.
Don't really need to impress anyone so I won't tell you how much I make MoTi.
Increase content, Traffic and Ad Placement worked wonders.

right, sorry to spoil the party.
this always made me surprised. getting 6-figure traffic and 4-digit income.
we do low 6-digit traffic and can feed 70 mouths each and every month.

not from adsense, of course.
sorry to spoil the party.

I would like to join the party. My increase from 2005 - 2006 is about 200% so far. I had been in the Adsense program for about 8 months at the beginning of '05. I had one site at the time that I started in the late 90s. It was around October of 2004 that I closed down my retail business so I could concentrate on making money with Adsense. From the beginning of January '05, and even a few months prior, I have been making enough money from Adsense to live off the income. 2005-2006 traffic is up about 100% due to new sites being built/expanding on the original one.

Spoil the party? I think not. I am in the low 6 figure traffic and 6 figure income and only have to feed myself, wife and child.

I will have a record year also, but my earnings have declined steadily since July at about 30% so I hope it levels off quickly.

sorry, thought this was the adsense forum and we were talking about adsense income. also, i must have misread the title of this thread..
