Heads up -- we'll be performing our monthly system maintenance on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 10:00am PDT.

As you know, your ads will continue to display and your earnings accrue as usual during this time, but you may not be able to access your account.

Let the naming begin.. :)

Oops, that's PST, not PDT! I forgot that daylight savings time ended a week ago.

How about flipping that smart pricing switch to 'OFF' during your maintenance? :)

I do, shiningknight. I'm just having one of those days with dumb mistakes, much like the ones in ann's recent thread.

November 11th is also a holiday here in the USA. It's Veterans' Day. For those foreign visitors who are unfamiliar with this holiday, here is a link to what it is - [en.wikipedia.org...]

I think that's a TOS violation #2, no brown nosing or sucking up.

Get it #2?

Nevermind...

Thanks for the heads up ASA

This sounds like an algo update and not maintenance to me. Let's hope it favors righteous publishers because many seem to KEEP falling to the roll of the dice. Regardless, thanks for the heads up.

Adwords is being upgraded, ... I think low converting ads are pushed to back of adsense... which may result in no more smartpricing.

i name it "operation no more mfa" if thats true, maybe no more smartpricing panalties because of #*$! sites.

Maybe this update has something to do with the print ads they are working on with the newspapers... The real question is how will the users click on the print ads and find their way to the advertisers' sites? That's not user friendly if you ask me... I KNOW! The newspapers will insert laptops in newspapers! Well spank my behind and call me Sally! Must be a HUGE update then, huh...

Any chance we can get our check early this month? With Thanksgiving and all, we can start on early spending.

This downtime is going to leave a big void in my life - does anyone have any serious suggestions as to how we are going to survive it?

How about calling this one Christmas Bonus

we could use a positive outlook or at least hopeful.

I reckon we should call it "Operation Godric", after Godric Gryffindor, the owner of the sorting hat from Harry Potter. I like the idea of a mysterious third party determining my future ;-)

Sleep, improve your work life balance by not turning the computer on and checking out the Big Blue Room or just spend more time with family/friends.

Hey, while it's down for maintenance, do you think you could get them to add the capability to assign channels for Google Custom Search? After multiple requests for clarification, they finally told me that no, that didn't exist yet, so I can't distinguish my Google Custom Search traffic from my other AdSense Search traffic (except that everything that doesn't have a channel on it probably came from CSE)

Just thought I'd toss that in... as long as you're in there doing maintenance and all...
