Hi all,

Since I've joined Adsense, I found this forum really perfect place for me to learn..and improve myself. Here I found many successful guys..with high earning. It is so great to hear that.

Acctually, I really love "work from home" & be "My own Boss" and Adsense is a good program for me to start with. So I will quit my current job soon and concentrate on this program.. Do you think that it is a risky investment?

But, the most important thing is: TRAFFIC - No traffic, No Money.

My website's traffic now is really low: under 40 visitors. I think that to earn 10$ a day (My current daily wage), I MUST attract at least 300 visitors per day. But how to get that far..? So my question for you, experienced guys:

- How to increase the traffic? What I should do to get that? Anyone of you here start a new website with low traffic like me?

Much appreciated for your reply.

Thanks,

Kurt

After reading Brett's post as Ann mentioned remember this:

The biggest payback you'll get is by writing good content.

Focus each page on a topic, and if you have a lot to write on a topic then make it a Section of your website and split it into several pages.

Writing pages is like putting money in the bank.

Don't worry too much about links - crappy links can hurt your site more than it can help.

If you are young and can work 16-18 hours a day then now is the time to do it. Read and write every day - in 1 year you may be surprised at what you have created.

Fortunately, I earn enough money doing web and graphic design to make a pretty good living doing that alone. I'm hoping, though, that Adsense and other types of revenue generated from my own websites will eventually allow me to slacken up on or cease the freelance design work all together.

Freelancing is quite competitive, and it can be stressful trying to keep a steady stream of work coming in.

I have my eye on joining this club too, but it's still a way off. At current growth rates, I'll be ready to go full time in 2-3 years.

I'd better go write some content...

you may go from nearly 1000$ day to 10$ day 2 years later...smartpricing will take your life away, but heck risk your life... your freedom is worth it

I would really recomend that you dont madly write and write "content". Write only really useful and extremely well researched but original content. You do not need hundreds of pages just GOOD content on a few pages that people like and naturally link to.

Preferable stuff not found elsewhere on the web or even in books.
Trust me quality is where its at not quantity. And choose a few different subjects to build sites about that you know more about than anyone else if you can. Your aim is to be the site in that "niche" that everone goes to for information because its obviously the best.

My sites are full of this sort of info and it works! I dont have proper domain names, use free webhosting, etc etc and still get 4 to 6k page views a day, and between 2.5 and 4k dollars a month. And thats with badly designed sites, spelling errors, etc. Whats important is that you give them something they cannot find elsewhere. The content... Not just "some content" made to make it search freindly.

Web entrepreneurs often think "content" is a synonym for "filler," and that all "content" is the same.

This is nothing new, of course: Long before the Web was invented, writers would hear people at cocktail parties say: "You're an author, huh? I'd write a book myself if only I had the time."

EFV, I added a load more (edit) while you posted that!

But yes exactly!

Not everyone can be a writer/best seller either!
You either have it or you dont or you might get lucky!

Actually the content of three of my sites WAS a book that I was writing on some technical hobby stuff, but I figured sticking it on the web free, but with ads was less trouble! Thing is, until adsense came along sorting out the ads was also too much trouble! That just made it easy!

I have one page that has been highly successful on the internet. This page was a flippant creation that I didn't even put adverts on when I made it.

Yet it has been so popular over the years that its my most frequented page by far, sometimes attracting up to 1/2 my entire site traffic some days.

You don't need heaps of mediocre pages, you need a few great pages to drag the viewers in.

I have a couple of pages like that! That was the luck I was talking about! In one case its a hugely popular link from an image search!

One page, luck alone and a 1000 uniques a day from it! Its a flash in the pan but right now its paying well. Next update it will probably be gone.

quiting your job and joining adsense

that would be the most foolish thing to do. all the ww members here have many many websites that they earn their living from adsense. even if you start some 5 websites say even then you cannot just put adsense and start earning. there is something called content that needs to be there in 5 websites. So lots of work is involved. i would advice you to stick to your job. When you start earning money enough to live from adsense then you can resign the job. i know it would be tough to understand. but you need to think about reality.

I MUST attract at least 300 visitors per day

There are many sites with more than 300 visitors per day that earn almost nothing. Take your own decision but see to it that you dont feel later.

One of my own sites gets 450 uniques per day and I never get more than 3 clicks and half a dollar!

Another one has only one page and gets 30 to 50 per day and averages 10 dollars. I need more of those!

I am a bit late to this thread but thought I would add my experience.

I quit my job for Adsense (and aff programs) and have never looked back. The key thing for me was that I went to live in cheaper locations where you could live well on $40 a day.

This for many will not be an option but if you like to travel and you have no ties in your country, then placing yourself offshore might be the way to go!

Don't we all!

I think the gradual approach might work better for you :

Keep your job.
Work on your sites.
When money comes in from your sites, re-invest in advertising or new sites or offline passive income generators (mutual funds, stock, property, other business).
Then when you have a multiple streams of income, you might want to toss your job.

On the other hand, with all that money coming in, you might just feel that much less pressure on your day time job and keep it. The knowledge that you have lots of income streams other people don't know about can work wonders for you!

But depend on Adsense solely... my personal opinion is NEVER!

Work your site, lots of content, get the traffic and then just do it! Made that scary move myself several months ago. My site makes $40-50 a day and I survive more or less on that alone - and I'm in the UK!

Somebody once said.. want less!

I find this quite the same, I was once earning a measily 5$ a day that turned into 50$ that turned into 500$, then was almost a 1000$ day when suddenly smack in the balls smartpricing kept pulling me down to 10$ day... in the end google decided my account is generating invalid clicks ( someone reported it for earning too much and freaked out? who knows ) the fact remains all money is frozen in my account, its earning next to nothing, and having this frozen status is really not fun, it means that Now do i generate more stats to get past this stage or do i change advertisers and find my account banned for providing no more stats that may of done justice for me.

Want less! was something I should of done, why the heck did i get greedy? I saw too many make 1,000,000 in 3 months on adsense posts that I found myself screaming to be there, 1,000$ day would of been 30,000$ a month, 360,000$ a year ( you can't blame me )

$10 a day can be easily achieved by somebody working part-time. But for security, I would advise that you make 2-3 times that amount before your quit because Google traffic is quite volatile.

The issue about Google suddenly suspending your account is quite real. This has happened to me before but I was successful on appeal. There is a higher likelihood of click fraud being conducted from certain countries than other and I am sure Google has a list of these countries and would be monitoring very carefully. I would be surprised if Vietnam is not on that list. Therefore whatever you do, you must take extra care to adhere to Google guidelines.

Thanks for all of your valuable replies and advice..Dragon, you are right, I am sure that Vietnam is on that list. However, I do not target the Visitors in Vietnam, or I mean that my travel site is in English and I target it to the ones who need information before coming to Vietnam.

Yes, of course, quiting my job is really risky when I cant control those invalid clicks. Adsense is a long-term project in my life..and I DO DO Do hope that I will not be suspended before I go the end of the line. it is up to ME and sometimes GOOGLE.

Thank you all again
